Pedro Acosta made his debut in MotoGP this year, delivering strong performances that earned him podiums, a pole position, and even a fight for victories. But not everything was positive.
The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider had to learn the premier class and, during the process, also made mistakes. Some of them were costly, particularly in Japan, where a fall robbed him of a possible win in the Sprint race.
Quoted by Marca newspaper, Acosta admitted that, similar to what happened in his debut year in Moto2, he made many mistakes: ‘I made many mistakes in my first year in Moto2. It happened more or less the same in MotoGP. Mistakes are what make us greater, but we also made a lot of them’.
That said, the Spaniard emphasized that he needs to be more consistent at the front: ‘We need to look for that consistency, that top five consistently, and I’m sure we can fight for something’.
