Suzuki is preparing to launch a new version of its popular 250cc adventure motorcycle, the V-Strom 250SX, now featuring new color options and an updated price. Although there are no changes to technical specifications or equipment, the introduction of a fresh and bold color scheme promises to revitalize the model. The official launch is scheduled for next Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Japan.
“Sonoma Red Metallic”: The Color That Makes the Difference
Introduced as the big news for 2025, the new Sonoma Red Metallic color replaces the previous Pearl Blaze Orange tone, which has been removed from the production line. This shade joins the already known options: Champion Yellow and Glass Sparkle Black, offering fans a more diverse choice to personalize their riding experience.
Performance and Design
The V-Strom 250SX model was originally launched in 2023 as a more agile and off-road focused variant compared to the traditional V-Strom 250. The SX name, meaning “sport crossover,” reflects the combination of a lightweight architecture and a compact oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine delivers a maximum power of 26hp at 9,300 rpm, ensuring robust performance on any terrain.
Weighing just 164 kg, the SX model stands out for its reduced weight, being 27 kg lighter than the standard model. This benefit comes from using a compact engine design and a 19-inch front wheel, which improves capability on rough terrain, while the rear maintains 17 inches.
Additionally, the motorcycle comes equipped with a practical rear carrier capable of carrying loads up to 5 kg, making it ideal for longer adventures.
Rider Comfort and Technology
The V-Strom 250SX features a robust and functional exterior design. The characteristic “beak” of the series remains, as do the vertical LED headlights, typical of Suzuki’s sport models. In terms of comfort and features, it includes:
- Suzuki Easy Start System, for quick and effortless starts;
- USB Port, essential for charging devices during trips;
- Highly aerodynamic windscreen, offering greater wind protection;
- Lever covers and rubber footpegs, improving grip and safety.
