If it’s normal and natural for a rider to crash when they’re used to a bike, then what about when they’re testing a new bike for the first time? Enea Bastianini had a high-speed crash today in the Barcelona tests and the truth is that his bike was unrecognizable and practically unrecoverable.
With just under 2 hours to race on the Montmeló circuit, the Italian rider of KTM Tech3 suffered a crash in turn 5 and although the crash itself was at high speed, there wasn’t even a big accident, but despite this, the RC16 he was riding was completely destroyed.
Fortunately the rider was not injured but his bike was in a terrible state and in pieces. Watch the rider’s crash and a very informative image about the condition of the 26-year-old Italian’s bike.
It is worth mentioning that the session was then red flagged so that a track cleaning could be carried out.
A close look at @Bestia23's nasty crash 💥

Glad to see the Italian is OK whilst the bike took the bigger hit 👍😮#BarcelonaTest pic.twitter.com/ITlApZ6XNM
