With three hours left in the MotoGP test day in Barcelona, Álex Márquez sits at the top of the leaderboard, being the only rider to break into the 1m38s range so far.
The Gresini rider has completed 38 laps and is currently in the garage. His best lap of 1m38.803s puts him 0.396s ahead of Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha), who also held the top spot earlier in the session. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) occupies third place, followed by Franco Morbidelli, making his debut with Pertamina Enduro VR46.
The top five is rounded out by Pedro Acosta, who is taking his first steps with the factory KTM team. Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) is in sixth, just ahead of Marc Márquez (Ducati) and Maverick Viñales, who is testing the KTM RC16 with the Tech3 squad for the first time.
The busiest rider on track so far is Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), completing 45 laps. The Italian, debuting with the Aprilia RS-GP, currently sits in 15th place, just behind his new teammate, reigning champion Jorge Martín.
