Pedro Acosta completed his debut season in MotoGP this Sunday. The challenges of his first year in the premier class were evident, but he also showed competitiveness, earned several podiums, and even fought for victories, finishing the championship in sixth, just two points behind Brad Binder – the best KTM rider.
The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider reflected on the season: ‘Fifty/fifty. There were many mistakes, many difficult moments. On the other hand, many good moments, fighting for victories, improving a lot, understanding how the MotoGP is. I’m more happy than sad, but also sad’.
Halfway through the season, at the German GP, Acosta had rated himself 4.5/10. Now that the year has ended, he slightly improved that rating, stating:
– I would put a 5. In the end, Sachsenring was maybe the worst moment, and then I was able to comeback. So, we need to be happy. We made a lot of mistakes, but we made super nice races, coming back, fighting with the Ducatis, fighting with riders who have a lot of experience. For this, we need to be happy.
