The confirmation we were all waiting for came earlier than usual but with good news: Miguel Oliveira will return to MotoGP and to the competition this weekend in Barcelona, but with some caution, in a GP that he says is of ‘mixed feelings’.
After missing the races in Indonesia, the GP in Japan, Australia, Thailand and Malaysia, Miguel Oliveira is back as he really wanted, after the injury and before the end of the year, thus having the opportunity to test his real condition physical.
In the preview of the round and contrary to what is usual, Trackhouse Racing brought forward the usual communications, and fortunately with good news.
The Portuguese is back in MotoGP but leaves for Barcelona with some precautions and moderate expectations, as well as mixed feelings, as the Barcelona Solidarity GP also says goodbye to Trackhouse Racing and Aprilia: ‘I’m really excited to come back to racing MotoGP. My expectations are not very high because I don’t know how limited my wrist is until I get back on the bike and it’s a Grand Prix with mixed feelings for sure, but my aim is to leave the Trackhouse team on a high’.
Oliveira did not forget the tragedy that befell the inhabitants of the Valencian Community, and also appealed for help, which he joined in supporting the locals:
– We, obviously, will be racing to gather some hope and also funds for those affected by the catastrophic events in Valencia so overall – I’m looking forward to it!
It is worth mentioning that, with this return, and if everything goes as normal, Oliveira will be able to start soon after Sunday, on the second test fair to follow, starting his connection with Pramac Racing, where he will have the Yamaha M1 waiting for him.
