MotoGP riders, like other athletes, need confidence in their abilities to perform well. Aleix Espargaró is no exception, but the rider is aware that he is not one of the most naturally talented on the grid.
In fact, the current Aprilia rider told AS newspaper that he considers his brother, Pol Espargaró, to have greater talent than himself:
– I’ve always considered Pol to be better. What I have achieved in recent years with Aprilia has taken a lot of effort because I hve never seen myself as having the same talent as other riders on the grid, including Pol, who has a much more natural talent than I do.
That said, the Spaniard, who will retire at the end of this season, believes he has done his best over his career: ‘By working hard, being prepared, and making the most of all the resources I have had, I have gotten the most out of my sporting career, but in terms of natural talent, Pol is much better than me’.
