Fabio Quartararo was one of the riders involved in a joint crash with the KTM duo and in the end, having seen Jack Miller, who hit his head on his rear wheel, in good health and without any problems. His performance was also highly positive.
The Frenchman finished in sixth place and was happy with what he produced on track: ‘I think we can be happy with all the moves we made all weekend, all the races. We started with a front tire that wasn’t exactly what we liked and then started with a rear tire that was already used, five laps, unfortunately. The result was pretty reasonable and I think we can be happy with what we achieved’.
Quartararo also talked about the crash and about the restart which was positive, especially after being on the ground: ‘It wasn’t easy because there was the crash, and then we started with a front tire that I used for three laps and said I didn’t like in the FP, a rear tire with a few laps but it wasn’t easy to come back after that first corner and also in a better position, I braked late and I think it was a good start after what happened’.
With Miller involved in the accident and more apparatus, seeing the #43 well was a positive sign, he explained: ‘To be honest, I didn’t see what happened and I didn’t see the crash before the restart. I just felt someone touch me on the inside and then I felt the block, it was Jack Miller’s head and I didn’t know how he was but I saw him in the paddock and I was very happy that he was okay because it was very scary’.
