The prestigious Italian brand MV Agusta has unveiled its most extreme supersport model to date with the limited-edition F3 Competizione, based on the already exclusive F3 RR, priced from €25,000. This track-focused model will be limited to only 300 units, each handcrafted at the brand’s factory in Varese, Italy.
The Competizione is based on the F3 RR, which debuted in 2022 with improvements like subtle side winglets, a new inertial measurement unit (IMU), advanced ABS, and an exposed rear wheel design. Despite the lightness of the base model, the new Competizione achieves a further weight reduction of 14 kg compared to the F3 RR. This weight loss is achieved through a dedicated track kit that includes a full titanium Akrapovič exhaust system (not road-approved), a bike cover, a fiberglass seat cover, and a certificate of authenticity, with each bike individually numbered to enhance its exclusivity.
Building on the highly competent F3 RR, MV Agusta has equipped the Competizione with high-performance Öhlins NIX30 front suspension, with fully adjustable 43 mm inverted forks, as well as an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock. This system is adjustable and includes a remote adjuster behind the single-sided black swingarm for further customization.
A major improvement in handling and performance is the introduction of carbon fiber wheels, reducing unsprung mass by approximately 3 kg compared to standard aluminum wheels. This weight reduction contributes to greater agility when changing direction on the track, while adding to the model’s exotic appeal.
At the front, the Competizione features four-piston Brembo radial brake calipers and 320 mm discs, complemented by a lithium-ion battery that further reduces the bike’s weight by around 3 kg. The front calipers are shielded by a carbon mudguard with gentle air inlets for cooling.
The F3 Competizione’s engine also boasts a nine-disc assist and slipper clutch, reducing the force needed to pull the left lever by 50%, making it easier to start and brake more aggressively. This model also includes a bidirectional quickshifter, enabling quick, clutchless gear changes.
The electronics have been upgraded as well, with a six-axis IMU working alongside a new electronic control unit (ECU). The Competizione offers four riding modes and eight levels of traction control, as well as a ride-by-wire throttle that provides precise control and includes cruise control as standard. The ABS can be deactivated on the rear wheel in race mode, allowing for a more aggressive cornering style, and launch control is available as an optional extra for riders seeking a high-performance experience.
This special edition of the F3 Competizione is a masterpiece for high-performance motorcycling enthusiasts, blending cutting-edge technology with handcrafted exclusivity.
