When a friend shows up at your door with an electric minibike apparently held together by zip ties and duct tape, the only reasonable thing to do is accept the challenge, right? Even more so when they give you full freedom to take it for a spin—as long as you agree to put it back together, of course. And yes, it’s completely disassembled in several boxes.
But then things get even better: there are not one but two motor options. One is more moderate, with around 9.3 horsepower; the other, significantly more powerful, cranks out between 23 and 24 horsepower. Trying out both seems mandatory, doesn’t it?
This unlikely and fun scenario was exactly what the guys over at Cars and Cameras faced, as seen in their latest video. This particular minibike is special, but not in the way you’d expect for a high-performance machine. There’s no carbon fiber or luxury parts here. Instead, the frame is made from recycled materials, like pizza boxes from a well-known pizzeria and even mozzarella stick cartons, crafting a truly… innovative fairing.
When fully assembled, this minibike weighs about 45 kg (100 pounds), giving it an impressive power-to-weight ratio. The regular rider of this little monster frequently races it, and although we don’t know their exact weight, it’s clear that, when combined with the bike’s weight, the 24-horsepower motor keeps the back wheel constantly ready to pop a wheelie.
This contraption is, in fact, sturdy where it counts: while the fairing is made from recycled cardboard, the structure supporting the electric motors is made from welded metal, providing essential durability. The front of the bike is fitted with mountain bike suspension and a bicycle wheel, and it’s chain-driven, with the 24-horsepower version featuring a high-quality chain for reliable power delivery.
The finished look of the minibike is as intimidating as it is fun. Is it the fastest on the track? Probably not. The most fun? That’s debatable. One thing’s for sure: it’ll be competing in the next Mini Mayhem event on the Cars and Cameras channel, so fans can look forward to more action soon.
Would you have the courage to ride this bike? Or would you rather play it safe, order some pizza, and watch the madness from a safe distance?
