Championship leader with a 17-point advantage over the second, Jorge Martín deserved praise from one of Ducati’s strongmen. Davide Tardozzi underlined the Spaniard’s mental growth and reiterated the conditions for himself and Pecco Bagnaia, in terms of material and equipment.
With Bagnaia and Jorge Martín fighting for the title, probably until the last round, Tardozzi reiterated that the Pramac Racing rider has exactly the same material as #1, in words to Motorsport: ‘It is evident that we face this dispute with honesty, giving Martin all possible support. As his team manager said, he doesn’t have one less piece than Pecco and also has the full support of Gigi Dall’Igna and his engineers’.
The manager then pointed to the growth and maturity shown by number 89: ‘After losing the championship last year, Jorge understood very well that he needed emotional support. I think he made great progress mentally last winter and is putting it into practice’.
And he concluded, with a compliment to the Pramac Racing rider: ‘It’s no coincidence that he’s leading the world championship. When he needs to be content with a result, he accepts it, something he wouldn’t have done last year or before. We can take our hat off to Jorge Martín’.
