Yamaha’s MotoGP riders may have the same engine, but the configurations are quite different, with Álex Rins having a version more to his liking.
The Spanish rider even stated that the differences are so significant that he wouldn’t even say it’s the same engine: ‘We have the same engine, but with a different configuration – it’s quite different inside, I cannot say we are using the same engine’.
Rins particularly enjoys the cornering behavior provided by his engine and emphasized that, given the many differences compared to Fabio Quartararo’s, there is a variety of data available:
– What I like about my engine it’s the cornering. My one turns a little bit better than his engine. It’s just a configuration that we tested many times in the tests that we did in Valencia, in Mugello. I always prefer this kind of engines, so they allowed me to use it. And like this we are also taking informations in both directions.
