The start of the long MotoGP race at this Australian GP was marked by an unusual moment that cost Marc Márquez the loss of about ten positions at the beginning of the race, and all because of… a piece of plastic.
The rider had a complicated start to the race and was spinning a lot, and all because he decided to remove the protective plastic from his visor at the start of the race, after having ‘something’ (as he said himself), in front of his eyes.
By chance, the visor plastic ended up getting stuck under the Spaniard’s Ducati Desmosedici which, when he released the clutch and accelerated, saw his bike spin a lot and smoke, delaying him substantially at the start of the race, but not enough to prevent him from winning.
