Next year, Ai Ogura will finally make his MotoGP debut after four seasons in Moto2. However, this promotion will be with Trackhouse Racing and Aprilia, not with Honda.
The rider spent several years with the Japanese manufacturer, which offered him the chance to join the premier class in 2025 with the satellite team LCR Honda. However, Ogura chose otherwise.
The current Moto2 World Championship leader explained in an interview with PecinoGP that he opted for Trackhouse Racing based on the current performance of Aprilia and Honda:
– To move up to MotoGP, I had to decide based on what I see, which are the standings, the rankings. This is the only argument I have, and Aprilia is ahead. From a rider’s perspective, you always decide considering which bike is stronger and the results. That’s how I made my decision.
