David Alonso’s victory lap after winning the Moto3 Japanese GP also marked his first celebrations as the newly crowned world champion.
Some celebrations are more original than others, and the Colombian had a particularly nostalgic moment: in addition to a giant screen showing a video of his past, his first mini bike – the one that started it all – was brought out to him.
Alonso couldn’t resist the chance to ride it: despite being much too big for the tiny bike, he took it for a spin down one of the straights at Motegi… and ended up with a minor fall.
It was a lighthearted and fun celebration, adding some color to the Moto3 spectacle. Watch everything in this video.
