Marc Márquez withdrew from the Indonesian MotoGP last Sunday, leaving him 78 points behind championship leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
The Gresini rider has acknowledged that winning the title is now out of reach: ‘Of course the target for the last five races, it looks like the championship it’s game over for us because we already had a big disadvantage in terms of points. But with the mistake in Indonesia, now the gap is too much’.
Given this, Márquez is now focusing on two key areas: maintaining consistency in his results and improving his performance in qualifying, which hasn’t been optimal:
– We will keep our target, which is to find that consistency, and we were able to do it since Austria – we achieved that consistency in the results. And the next target is try to improve our weak points that are in qualifying.
