The MotoGP Indonesian GP was one to forget for Álex Rins. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider struggled to find a competitive rhythm and was the last to cross the finish line. Still, with several retirements registered, he managed to secure four points for 12th place.
The difficulties began right on the first lap, as the Spaniard described: ‘It was so difficult for me to warm up the tyre. We lost many positions on the first lap, because as soon as I started, I went into turn 7 with no throttle and I completely lost the rear. We knew that it was going to be hard for us to warm up the rear tyre’.
Rins leaves Mandalika feeling frustrated and sad: ‘I’m a little bit sad – sad, frustrated – because we started Friday quite well, making a good progression, but we couldn’t progress as I wanted. Saturday was quite hard, and even Sunday was quite hard – it was one of my toughest race in the World Championship and I finished last’.
The championship continues next weekend in Japan, and the #42 is focused on an immediate reaction: ‘We need to check what happened, we need to analyze, because it’s not the place where I want to be. But I’m looking forward to the next race, luckly is next week. So, let’s jump again to the bike in Japan’.
