Enea Bastianini still had some hope of contending for the MotoGP title this year, but his chances took a major hit this Sunday when he crashed out of the Indonesian GP.
With seven laps remaining, the Italian Ducati rider was in third place, chasing the top two and showing strong pace, even holding the fastest lap of the race at one point.
However, Bastianini’s efforts proved to be too much, and he pushed past his limits at turn one of Mandalika, resulting in a crash that forced him to retire from the race.
This marked the first time «Bestia» has failed to finish a main race this season, halting a streak of two consecutive podium finishes. In the championship standings, he could now fall 75 points behind the leader.
