The battle for victory in the MotoGP Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix stretched to the final lap, with Enea Bastianini (Ducati) overtaking Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) at turn 4 in Misano to claim the win.
However, the Italian’s maneuver sparked some controversy, as he had to briefly go beyond the curb to complete the overtake. Despite this, Bastianini was not penalized.
Marc Márquez believes there should have been consequences. In a press conference, the Gresini rider stated that Bastianini should have been penalized for not keeping his bike within track limits:
– What I will say is against our interest for the championship, but I saw the replay. Enea was not able to keep the bike inside the track, so for me it’s one position drop. But the race direction decides.
