Adrián Huertas delivered an outstanding performance in the first World Supersport Championship race at Cremona, leading from start to finish for a commanding victory on Saturday.
Starting from pole position, Huertas (Aruba.it Ducati) held off Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati) with Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate) settling into third.
During the opening five laps, the leading trio were within a second of each other, but Huertas gradually pulled away, building over a one-second lead by lap eight.
The Spanish rider extended his advantage to over five seconds before ultimately winning by 4.665s ahead of Manzi. The Italian overtook Montella for second on lap 14 of the 20-lap race.
Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta) finished fourth, more than five seconds off the podium, while Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph) completed the top five, showcasing four different manufacturers in the top spots.
