Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira secured the last two spots in the second qualifying Q2 for the MotoGP Emilia-Romagna GP this morning, as they were the fastest riders in Q1 at Misano.
Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia) was the early leader, holding a 0.254s advantage over Joan Mir (Repsol Honda) after the initial laps. The Portuguese rider strengthened his position with his second lap, while Mir remained in second place.
In the final three minutes, the timesheets saw some changes, with Binder (Red Bull KTM) becoming the new leader ahead of Oliveira, despite both improving their times after returning to the track.
By the end of the session, nothing else changed. Binder topped Q1 with a 0.076s lead over Oliveira, and both advanced to Q2. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) finished third, missing out on Q2 by just 0.139s.
