David Muñoz was the fastest in the Moto3 Emilia-Romagna GP practice sessions. Nearly all riders improved their times this morning in Practice 2 compared to yesterday afternoon’s session.
After the initial laps, David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) took the lead, but was soon overtaken by Ángel Piqueras, who then lost the lead to his Leopard Racing teammate Adrián Fernández.
Filippo Farioli (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda) also briefly held the top time, but nine minutes in, Piqueras returned to the top spot, holding it for over 15 minutes, improving twice during that period.
The rookie was then surpassed by Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3), who was quickly overtaken by Iván Ortolá (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM). With less than two minutes remaining, Farioli regained the lead… but Muñoz soon posted the fastest lap of 1m40.643s.
By the end, David Alonso (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar) came close to Muñoz, finishing just 0.024s behind. Farioli was third, Piqueras ended up fourth, and Luca Lunetta (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda) completed the top five.
Further down, Stefano Nepa (LevelUp-MTA/KTM) didn’t improve compared to yesterday but did enough to secure 14th place in the combined times, earning direct qualification to the second phase of qualifying. In 15th, José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM) missed this goal by 0.139s, having also not improved from Friday.
