Jorge Martín will join Aprilia in the MotoGP next season, transitioning from Prima Pramac and Ducati to a bike that currently isn’t at the level of contending for the championship.
Aleix Espargaró, a close friend of Martín and currently racing for the Noale-based team, pointed out what he believes will be the most challenging aspect for Martín in 2025:
– The difficult thing for Jorge will be that I came from P20 and I reached a couple of victories. It’s not easy, but I get used to ride a bike that wasn’t good. And he is now riding the best bike, winning races, being the fastest every session. So jumping on other bike that is not at the same level is not to going to be easy.
Despite these challenges, Espargaró emphasized that Martín chose Aprilia deliberately and that there are conditions for success: ‘His desire was to come to Aprilia, he had other options and he chose Aprilia. So no regrets, it’s not going to be easy, but it’s a decision he took. He needs to go full, and Aprilia has the capacity to adapt the bike to him, and he has enough speed to be the number 1 in Aprilia. It’s not going to be easy, but he will make it’.
