Nicolò Bulega is back on the top step of the podium with a victory in the World Superbike Championship Superpole race at Magny-Cours, following an exciting battle with Alex Lowes.
The pole position went to Lowes (Kawasaki), who got off to a good start. However, he was overtaken by Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) at turn five. On the first lap, Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) crashed at turn 7 and had to go to the medical center, where he was diagnosed with a fracture.
In the first four laps, the front group was tightly packed, but from the fifth lap onwards, Bulega and Lowes began to pull away, and the fight for victory was between the two. The Briton tried everything he could but was unable to overtake his rival, allowing Bulega to win with a 0.115s lead in a battle that extended almost to the finish line.
