Adrián Huertas is in a good position to secure the victories in the World Supersport Championship round at Magny-Cours. On Friday, the rider clinched pole position for the French round, setting a new lap record at the circuit.
After brief leads by Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. Yamaha) and Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati), Huertas took the top spot with his first flying lap.
The Aruba.it Ducati rider improved twice more, locking in the pole with a record-breaking time of 1m39.705s. Veteran Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) was Huertas’ main challenger, finishing second, 0.149s behind.
Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura/Ducati) completed the front row in third, while Montella will start from the second row alongside Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate) and Federico Caricasulo (Motozoo ME AIR Racing/MV Agusta).
