Jorge Martín was in the fight for victories at the Austrian MotoGP, securing pole position with a new lap record at the Red Bull Ring before finishing second in both races.
However, the Prima Pramac Racing rider had to deal with an unexpected physical issue that occurred off the track: on Friday, while taking a shower, he cut the thumb of his left hand.
The pain on Saturday morning even required stitches. Although it caused some discomfort, Martín assured that it didn’t affect his performance in any way:
– No, it wasn’t an issue. On Saturday I said it’s okay, and on Sunday it was not a problem. Now for sure it has a lot of inflamation, but it wasn’t an issue at all while riding.
