Toprak Razgatlioglu further solidified his dominance in the British round of the World Superbike Championship by winning Sunday’s Superpole race. The Turkish rider from ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team achieved his sixth consecutive victory, despite early strong pressure from Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), in a race where Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK) secured his first podium with Yamaha.
The Italian rider performed admirably and initially led the race in the early laps, but Razgatlioglu quickly took control in the race which spanned only ten laps. Meanwhile, Rea brought his Yamaha YZR R1 to the podium for the first time, finishing in third place.
Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) managed to fend off Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) to secure fourth place, while Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) finished sixth, recovering several positions from his starting grid. Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK) took seventh place, followed by Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) and Danilo Petrucci (Barni Racing Team).
Axel Bassani (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) suffered a crash and will start the main race from 16th position, while Andrea Iannone (Team Yamaha WorldSBK) finished tenth.
