The MotoE lap record at Sachsenring was broken this afternoon in the second practice. Racing at home, Lukas Tulovic was the fastest in the session.
The German from Dynavolt Intact GP was the first to complete a timed lap, only to be beaten shortly after by Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team). Then Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) took the lead, before Tulovic reclaimed it.
However, he was again beaten, this time by teammate Héctor Garzó. The Spaniard briefly held the lead before being overtaken by Óscar Gutiérrez (Axxis-MSi).
Less than a minute later, Tulovic set the lap that prevailed: 1m26.553s, setting a new record. Towards the end, Garzó improved but could only manage second, 0.169s behind. Gutiérrez finished third.
The top five was completed by Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini) and Casadei – the championship leader. Also securing direct qualification for the second qualifying were Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing), Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar), and Eric Granado (LCR E-Team).
