Currently, Ducati is the strongest manufacturer in MotoGP. The results speak for themselves, not only due to the achievements in recent years but also in the current season.
In the first seven rounds, only once was a Ducati rider not the winner, and Ducati is the only manufacturer to have had at least one rider on the podium in every Grand Prix up to the Italian GP.
When Ducati started its ascent to the top, Honda and Yamaha were dominating MotoGP – a vastly different scenario from the current one, where the Japanese manufacturers are clearly at a disadvantage compared to the other two European manufacturers, Aprilia and KTM.
But between Aprilia and KTM, who is closer to Ducati? Gigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, shared his opinion: ‘This is a difficult question, but I think in the end, it could be Aprilia’, he mentioned to PecinoGP.
At present, Ducati leads the Constructors’ Championship with 101 points more than KTM, while Aprilia is in third place, 103 points behind. However, the Noale-based manufacturer has been the only one besides Ducati to win in 2024 so far.
