BMW Motorrad has revealed the new R18 range for 2025, bringing significant improvements to the iconic cruiser model. While maintaining the powerful 1802cc boxer engine, this series not only refines performance but also introduces aesthetic and comfort improvements.

The main mechanical update is compliance with the European Euro 5+ emissions standard, ensuring greater efficiency without compromising performance. The engine maintains its power of 91 hp at 4750 rpm, but torque has been increased by 0.5 kgfm, now reaching 16.6 kgfm at 3000 rpm. Furthermore, values above 15.2 kgfm are available between 2000 and 4000 rpm, providing a more vigorous response in intermediate ranges.

The base R18 model received a new more aerodynamic and sculptural design, notably increasing the rear wheel diameter from 16 to 18 inches and new seven-spoke wheels, giving an even more imposing appearance.

Other changes include a new one-piece front fender, redesigned suspension for greater comfort, and a circular section silencer that reinforces the classic identity. The seat, now with an additional 10mm of polyurethane foam, also promises more comfortable journeys.

The R18 will be marketed in Black Storm Metallic, but there will also be options like Velvet Green Metallic and an Aero Design package, with spoked wheels of 19 inches in front and 16 inches in the rear.

The Classic version reinforces the retro aesthetic with an increase in the front wheel from 16 to 19 inches, approaching the identity of the R18B. The design was enhanced with new fork covers, redesigned side covers, and a circular silencer, further evoking the cruiser tradition.

It will be available in Black Storm Metallic and Mineral Gray Metallic Matte colors, plus an optional Blue Metallic x Oriental Blue Metallic version, a two-tone scheme that accentuates the model’s classic character.

Other models in the line also receive updates. The R18 ROCTANE, a fairing-less bagger cruiser, debuts the Dragonfire Red Metallic color and a comfort package that includes Hill Start Control, for smoother starts on inclines.

The Transcontinental version, the most luxurious in the range, is also available in Dragonfire Red Metallic and features new darkened chrome details on the valve pushers, reinforcing the model’s sophistication.
