Yamaha is committed to improving and this season, with concessions, is already working to get closer to the main rivals. The Team Director addressed, even before the last private tests in Mugello, the work that the manufacturer was about to enter.
Massimo Meregalli was thinking about what was to come, with the next few weeks being of great importance to the team, with tests and more GPs to follow: ‘As a team, we now have to look at what is to come,’ he began, even before the tests in Italy during this week.
After Álex Rins and Fabio Quartararo rode for two days and Cal Crutchlow for one, but there is still more to come, Meregalli added: ‘We have the Catalunya GP sponsored by Monster Energy, followed by the Italian GP, the home race of our team. All these events are important to us, so we will strive in the coming weeks’.
In this week’s tests at the Italian circuit, the fastest was Álex Rins, the only one to lap in the 45s, with Fabio Quartararo coming in second. Cal Crutchlow only tested for one day and there the manufacturer spent part of his time testing a new aerodynamic package.
