Miguel Oliveira left Mugello with only two points. The rider from Almada finished 14th in the main race of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix on Sunday, being the lowest ranked among the four Aprilia riders.
Once again, the start was not good for the Portuguese, who lost four positions on the first lap, dropping to 15th behind his Trackhouse Racing teammate, Raúl Fernández. He regained a position on the following lap, but only briefly.
It was between 15th and 14th that Oliveira stabilized in the following laps. He managed to close in on the 13th-placed Álex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha) before overtaking him on lap 10.
Thus, #88 found himself immediately behind Fernández again. Oliveira spent a good part of the race in 13th place. He gradually approached the Spanish rider, but a mistake caused him to lose position to Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) on lap 19.
Until the end, Oliveira couldn’t react or keep up with Bezzecchi, ultimately finishing in 14th place.
