Francesco Bagnaia is again competing for the MotoGP title, but in 2023 the situation is not the same as in 2022. The Ducati rider now has as main rivals fellow constructors – although they are from other teams – while last year the competition was with Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha.
Questioned at a press conference about how different it is to discuss the title with riders from the same constructor and not from others, the Italian replied:
– The best thing is that this way no one can say that we have team orders. Last year it was something that was talked about several times. This is the best aspect. And fighting with other Ducatis also means that if you are competitive, your main opponents also know where you are making the difference. It’s good for Ducati, of course, to have three riders at the front. But I still prefer it this way because it’s more challenging.
