More than a week after suffering a serious fall in Dakar 2024, Carles Falcón passed away this Monday. The incident occurred on January 7th during the second stage. He was competing in the Original by Motul category, without assistance, and was 77th overall at the time of the fall.
Since then, the KTM rider from TwinTrail Racing had been hospitalized in critical condition and in a coma. The team reported that his death occurred this Monday: ‘Carles has left us. The medical team confirmed that the neurological damage caused by the cardiac arrest at the time of the accident is irreversible,’ it can be read.
The statement then speaks of Falcón as a person and a professional: ‘Carles was a smiling person, always active, who enjoyed passionately everything he did, especially motorcycles. He left us doing something that was his dream, competing in the Dakar. He was enjoying it, he was happy on the bike. We must remember him for his smile and the happiness he generated in everyone. Computer engineer by training. Motorcycle instructor and travel guide by passion. Many have learned by his side. He taught with patience, energy, and happiness, making everyone enjoy the bike. This is what he left us and we will always keep it with us, all those who were close to him, family, friends, and supporters.’
Twin Trail Racing also says: ‘From the family and the team, we ask that the privacy of the farewell events that will take place in the coming days be respected. Thank you for your understanding.’
