Ducati is the current reference constructor in MotoGP, having clearly dominated the most recent seasons. But the successes started long before. There are already 87 race victories and 12 titles.
Already in its debut season, the constructor from Borgo Panigale achieved nine podiums, including one victory, but had to wait until 2007 for the first title: obtained by Casey Stoner. The Desmosedici GP was still far from being a dominating bike at the time, and after the Australian’s conquest, it was only in 2020 that Ducati would celebrate another title: the first of four consecutive constructors’ titles until 2023.
As for teams, Ducati only became champion again in 2021 and 2022. The years 2007 and 2022 were the only ones in which Ducati won all possible titles (riders, teams, and constructors). The manufacturer achieved a total of 12 titles among riders, constructors, and teams – also counting the one from the Prima Pramac satellite team in 2013.
As for victories, the manufacturer already has 87: 73 with the factory team and 14 with satellite teams (Pramac, 6; Gresini, 5; VR46 Racing, 3). It was in 2017 that Ducati achieved the most triumphs in a single year with its factory team (11), reaching eight in 2022 and 2023. As for the number of podiums, the record was in 2022 with 17. On the contrary, it only passed one season absent from the top three: 2013, before the turning point that was the arrival of the general manager Gigi Dall’Igna.
