Davide Brivio is back in the MotoGP World Championship. The historic leader of Yamaha or Suzuki will now be in the satellite team of Aprilia, Trackhouse Racing, as team manager.
The announcement came this Thursday, on the sidelines of the last day of testing in Sepang. The Italian had left the Alpine project in motorsport a few months ago and since then there had been speculation about a return to MotoGP.
Now, it’s official, and Brivio explained how he joins the latest team in the paddock: ‘Everything happened very quickly in the last few days, with Justin [Marks, owner of Trackhouse] asking me to help Trackhouse in the MotoGP challenge. It’s so exciting to be part of this new project from the beginning, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know Trackhouse more and seeing what we can bring to MotoGP from the vision and successful experience that this company has in other sports and environments. It can be a great combination of both worlds. Now, we just have one more test to go, it’s almost time to compete and we will try to support our two talented riders Miguel [Oliveira] and Raúl [Fernández] as much as possible and have fun. Everything happened very quickly in the last few days and before I couldn’t say where I was going, but it’s great news and we will start working quickly!‘.
