Pedro Acosta is back to top three results. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider was a constant presence in the fight for the top positions in the MotoGP Catalan GP Sprint race, finishing third.
At the beginning of the last lap, he was even overtaken by Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), but shortly after he was one of the beneficiaries of Francesco Bagnaia’s (Ducati) crash – just like the winner Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) and Márquez.
In the interview with the official broadcast, Acosta admitted that he may have damaged the tires in the early laps, but he was clearly pleased with the third place in this race:
– It is true that it was a very difficult race. In the end, maybe with the fights in the beginning with Pecco and Brad [Binder], we overheated the tires a bit. Anyway, I am very happy to be on the podium again, super happy to be on the podium with these guys and I am super happy with the work that Mattighofen and the whole GasGas team are doing.
