RJ Hampshire was the fastest on track at the start of the AMA Supercross 250, West Zone. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider didn’t even cross the first lap in the lead, but that made little difference as he showed a superior pace to the others at Angel Stadium, from that moment on until the end.
In the main event of the night, the holeshot belonged to Julien Beaumer, but the Red Bull KTM rider remained in the lead of the race for the entire first lap. He would then be overtaken by RJ Hampshire, with #24 beating his opponent in the following laps: from the second to the eighth, Beaumer was always behind Hampshire, with Levi Kitchen in third place throughout.
Jordon Smith was the next to reach second place, for one lap, with TJ Albright and Talon Hawkins also on the podium positions, and always with Hampshire as the leader.
In the last three laps of the main event, Hampshire maintained the lead, but the following positions had some changes: Joshua Varize briefly ran in second, ahead of Smith, with Robbie Wageman also performing well but unable to hold onto the podium until the end.
Thus, Hampshire had an almost perfect start, winning with a 3.138s advantage over Smith, while Kitchen also reached the third position.
