Pedro Acosta was the second classified in the MotoGP Americas GP, which he led at more than one point. However, he was unable to contain Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) or respond when he was overtaken.

Despite everything, Acosta did not stop trying for a different result, seeking solutions to overtake Viñales – concluding that it was impossible, despite his efforts until the end:
– I tried, I mean: when he started to overtake me, I tried to block him and these things, but it was really difficult. I was also telling him that when he actually overtook me, I was trying to brake hard in turn 12 and it was impossible to overtake. That’s why it wasn’t my day.
