Miguel Oliveira is determined to return to great results and with MotoGP back, this time in Assen, his goals are clear: the Portuguese rider wants to achieve a ‘good result’ on a track that he admits is ‘very difficult’.
Currently, the Portuguese rider from Trackhouse Racing is in 15th place in the championship standings, and with the action back, he has full confidence that he will be able to perform well on a track that he considers complicated.
In the preview to the Dutch Grand Prix, Oliveira started by saying: ‘Assen is a very difficult track. It is narrow and has a great combination of high-speed direction changes, so it is a bit tricky to navigate on the track’.
Despite the difficulties and challenges that it presents, the Dutch circuit is one where he usually has a good time, and where he wants to score good points: ‘But normally, it is a circuit where I have a lot of fun – with the MotoGP bike, so I am looking forward to trying to get a good result in the Netherlands this weekend’.
In 2023, Miguel Oliveira qualified with the 11th fastest time, with a lap time of 1:32.174s, in the Sprint race he finished 19th, and in Sunday’s race, he was forced to retire after his bike betrayed him, even though he was running in sixth position.
