Miguel Oliveira closed the preparations for the main race of the MotoGP Americas GP with the 12th fastest time in the warm-up in Austin. It was a short session to fine-tune, in which only four timed laps were possible.
With his first lap, the Portuguese rider was in 11th place and, despite improving afterwards, he ended up worse off by dropping to 15th place on the table.
There were about three minutes left until the end of this warm-up, which allowed for two more timed laps. And, on the next one, Oliveira made substantial improvements to move up to ninth.
In the final attempt, the rider from Almada did not do better, falling victim to the improvements of his opponents. He lost positions, finishing in 12th place, 1.027s behind leader Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) with a time of 2m03.368s.
