Enea Bastianini was one of the fastest in the MotoGP tests in Losail. The Ducati rider finished second on the timesheet, just behind teammate Francesco Bagnaia who was 0.120s faster.
The #23 told journalists that he is pleased with the test, but acknowledged the need for improvement and the existence of some problems: ‘I didn’t feel bad. I’m happy with the attack on the stopwatch, but also with the work done during the Sprint race simulation, the long series. We improved compared to Monday, but we also have to improve a bit because at the moment Pecco has something more compared to all the other riders and we have to check the data better. The main problem on Tuesday was a bit of vibrations at the rear and also a bit of front tire wear after a few laps. Other than that, the lap time was already good, but at the moment we are not at 100 percent’.
The issue of vibrations was also a complaint from other Ducati riders, such as Álex Márquez (Gresini) or Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac) it had already affected him in the past, Bastianini replied: ‘Not to me. I also asked Álex, but, well… it mainly comes with the medium tire, with the soft one it was better during the attack on the stopwatch. But I think we can solve the problem for the race. Let’s see’.
The Italian further explained: ‘On entry, when you make the maximum angle, in that part we have some vibrations. For my riding style it’s not a big problem, but if we can solve it a bit we can improve more’.
