Fabio Quartararo is coming to the end of his contract with Monster Energy Yamaha in MotoGP. Since making his debut in the premier class in 2019, he has only ridden bikes from the Iwata manufacturer – first in the satellite team and, since 2021, in the factory team with which he has already been crowned champion.
The shortcomings of the bike have become more pronounced in recent years, so the rider and Yamaha are unable to compete for top positions with the European manufacturers. This year, a new concessions system was introduced, which puts Yamaha and Honda in a privileged position to develop their respective bikes.
However, so far the results are not yet visible. It is expected that the rider market will move very soon, so Quartararo may be forced to make a decision about the future before Yamaha shows signs of improvement. And, for that reason, he may end up knocking on the door of other manufacturers.
