Yesterday saw the end of the Catalunya MotoGP Grand Prix with the main race, and it’s time to take stock of the World Championships. The leaders remain the same, but the margins are different.
In the rider’s championship, with his retirement in the main race, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) saw his lead reduced. The Italian leads with a 50-point advantage over Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) – who finished third in Barcelona. Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati) remains in third, now 23 points ahead of Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM). With the victory, Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) climbed to fifth.
Ducati strengthened its lead in the Constructors’ World Championship with the 25 points scored in Catalunya, now 164 points ahead of KTM. Aprilia scored the most points, with 37 points, and is now third, 176 points behind the leaders. By amassing nine points, Yamaha moved up to fourth and surpassed the 100-point mark. Honda is in last place.
