Jorge Martín is the clear leader of the MotoGP World Championship after seven rounds, with an 18-point lead over Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) is third, 35 points behind, and in the last few rounds, this trio has dominated the podium.
Although there is still a long way to go in the season, the Prima Pramac rider believes that the current top three will be the ones fighting for the title: ‘It’s still a very long championship. I think we are quite equal in terms of performance. I think this will be the fight; as you could see almost all season, there were some riders who were able to win, but they are not consistent. I think we are consistent‘.
While Martín acknowledges that it is difficult to draw conclusions about the strengths of Bagnaia and Márquez, he is aware of what he believes to be his best quality:
– It is true that it is difficult to see the strongest point of each other; for sure you need to improve race by race. On my side, I am usually strong everywhere and this is my strongest point: being able to maintain that speed constantly, always. And hopefully it will be worth it.
