Marc Márquez has been one of the strongest riders in the MotoGP round in America, even though it is the last GP victory he has in 2021. Ready to return to racing at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the goal is to gradually approach the top positions, ensured Frankie Carchedi.
The chief engineer of the Spaniard at Gresini Racing began by recalling the unfortunate moment of the rider in Portugal, on social media, saying, quoted in Crash: ‘Unhappy end. Some great positive points from the weekend’.
Looking ahead to the next round, Carchedi revealed what the next objectives are, hoping for a better race pace: ‘The next step is to start closer to the front and have clean air… step by step. I may have the best race pace, but in a race situation it is very different’.
He also addressed some issues with the bike when behind, even in the front group: ‘Being at the back of the front group, the front overheats. We had difficulties in gaining speed from the last corner and most of the overtakes [Sunday] were in turn 1. We made things difficult. The next step is clear!’
