Francesco Bagnaia left the main race of the Portuguese GP without points. In the final laps, fighting with Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) for the top five, he collided with the rival and fell, having to abandon the race.
The Ducati two-time champion spoke about the incident: ‘When Marc arrived, he just tried to overtake, went wide, I tried to close the trajectory, he closed his trajectory and we collided. It’s something that makes me angry, but it’s normal. It’s a racing incident and we have to move on to the next one‘.
Regarding what made him angry about this accident, Bagnaia clarified: ‘It annoys me because I ended up with no points. And last year in the second race I did the same, ending up with no points due to my mistake. This year, due to a racing incident. We know perfectly well that with 38 races left the championship is very long, but I was expecting and wanted to be more consistent in the results and not start having zero points right in the second race like last year‘.
