Fabio Quartararo is in the final year of his contract with Monster Energy Yamaha in MotoGP. The season is still in its early stages, but the Iwata manufacturer remains far from the top, and despite the concessions that may allow for a closer approach throughout the year, the rider is looking for possible alternatives.
In Qatar, Quartararo finished 11th in the main race about 18 seconds behind the winner Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). The Sprint race saw an even worse scenario: 12th, 13 seconds behind the leader, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) with half the laps.
According to the website GPOne.com, the 2021 champion has already started talking to Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, and this is no secret. The Noale manufacturer would be the most logical option for Quartararo: Ducati and KTM already have many options to choose from within their own ranks, and Honda is facing major difficulties, just like Yamaha.
