A Maeving is a small electric motorcycle builder in the United Kingdom, but it is expanding and is now reaching the United States of America where it has launched its latest model: the RM1S, which promises to be an ideal solution for sustainable urban mobility.
With a retro design and the modern technology that electric power entails, the motorcycle harkens back to the café racers of the 1920s. Its construction uses carbon fiber on the fenders, as well as a cradle-type steel frame. The front fork is not adjustable, and in the back there is a Twin RSU suspension with preload adjustment.
The brakes consist of a disc on both the front wheel (240 millimeters) and the rear wheel (180 millimeters). As for the motor, mounted on the rear axle, it delivers a maximum power of 4.4 kW and a torque of 160 Nm. The top speed is around 72 km/h.
With one battery, it is possible to travel about 64 km, which doubles to 128 km in the option with two batteries. The charging time is about 4h10m (or 2h55m to go from 0 to 80 percent). In the front, there is a modern LED headlight. The instrument panel is digital, further proving that the RM1S only has the design that is classic and retro.
Now, Maeving is entering the American market, making the RM1 available only in California in an initial phase. It is clear that the small builder is looking to grow and, with the European Union being so close to the United Kingdom and placing increasing emphasis on electric mobility, it is not unthinkable that Maeving will expand to the “Old Continent” in the future. The step would be logical; we just have to wait and see if or when it will happen.
