Miguel Oliveira is back to what he does best, and today at Sachsenring he showed that you don’t forget how to do it. The Portuguese returned to the front row of the grid by achieving the second best time in qualifying in Germany, and he mentioned his comfort with the bike, although there is room for improvement, he considers.
‘It feels good [to be here, back in the closed park]. Since yesterday I have felt “at home” with the bike and we were able to work on small details to improve the package and also my riding. That lap [1.19.471s] was really cool, but I think it’s still far from perfect, and then with all the yellow flags it was very difficult to put everything together,’ the Trackhouse Racing rider informed the MotoGP microphones, before mentioning that being in this position was an objective he had, and ensuring that the focus is now on earning more points:
– But overall, I am very happy with the front row of the grid, it was our target yesterday after finishing the sessions. Job done and we still have the points to go for in the Sprint and tomorrow.
